There are three common types of concrete sealers, topical, integral, and penetrating. Topical sealers are applied to the concrete’s surface and form a protective coating on top of the surface.
Topical sealers work well for both indoor and outdoor concrete. Integral sealers are added to the concrete as it’s being mixed. This sealer provides the same benefits as a topical sealer with the benefit of being in place from the start. Penetrating sealers penetrate the surface of the concrete when they’re applied, which creates a chemical barrier that protects the concrete from moisture.
No matter which of these sealers you choose for your concrete, it will be protected.
